ADHD assessment for the Armed Forces

Private adult ADHD assessment for serving personnel, reservists, veterans and their families. Here’s what’s involved, what it costs, and who we are.

Trusted by NHS and public sector organisations

Service life is highly structured, and structure hides a great deal.

A routine, clear orders, a team who notice if something slips. It can carry someone a very long way.

The difficulty often surfaces when that goes. A posting ends, an injury takes away the routine, or you leave and the shape of the day goes with it. The same person, doing the same things, suddenly can’t keep up.

The pattern tends to show up as:

Focus that arrives in bursts and then disappears entirely

Starting far more than ever gets finished

Managing fine when there's structure, and struggling badly when there isn't

Restlessness, or a mind that won't settle at night

A constant gap between what you meant to do and what you did

None of that on its own means ADHD. Stress, poor sleep, low mood and several other things look similar from the outside. That's what an assessment is for.

Before the appointment you'll complete detailed background information about your history, your health and how things are now.

Where possible we’ll also ask about your childhood, because the diagnostic criteria require that difficulties were present early on.

The assessment is a structured clinical interview with a qualified clinician. It’s thorough, and it works through each area properly rather than running down a checklist.

The clinician considers what else might explain the picture before reaching a conclusion. You’ll get a clear answer, explained to you directly, and a written report afterwards.
